Hosting of the 3rd European Engineers Day and the FEANI General Assembly in Vienna
On 5 October 2017 the OIAV hosted the 3rd European Engineers Day – “Concerns about Engineering Excellence” together with the Federal Chamber of Architects and Chartered Engineering Consultants in cooperation with FEANI, ECEC and ECCE. The event took place in OIAV’s recently refurbished “House of Engineers and Architects” situated in the heart of Vienna. About 150 participants from all over Europe discussed questions like “What is Engineering Excellence?”, “Does the EU need it?”, “Will it be available in the future?” or “What are encouragements and hindrances for its occurrence?”
One day after the 3rd European Engineers Day, the FEANI General Assembly took place on 6 October 2017. Like the before mentioned event the FEANI General Assembly, too, was organized in the “House of Engineers and Architects”. Apart from attending the General Assembly the participants also had the pleasure to get to know the capital of Austria, i.e. get inspired by the traditional “Kaffeehauskultur” (culture of coffee houses) as well as the famous “Wiener Gemütlichkeit” (Viennese cosiness). Furthermore our guests had the oppor- tunity to visit sights like the Spanish Riding School, Schloss Schönbrunn etc.
