Member associations: The UETS has individual members and 42 collective members in the Republic of Serbia: 20 republic’s professional associations, 7 republic’s multidisciplinary engineering-technicians’ associations, 1 provincial engineering- technicians’ association, 14 municipal and regional engineering-technicians’ associations.

    The UETS was established in 1868. Nowadays the UETS has 42 collective members in the Republic of Serbia. Four more are in process of establishment. Main areas of work in the UETS in 2016-2017 were:
Events and Meetings
Every year the UETS traditionally holds the international scienti c conference "Water and Sewerage". The 37th International Conference "Water and Sewerage '16", was organized from 11-14 October 2016, including a round table with the main topics: "Vulnerabilities of drinking water supply systems – Security aspect; Terrorist threats to water supply systems and approaches to their protection". The 38th International Conference "Water and Sewerage '17", was organized from 15-17 November 2017, including a round table with the main topics: ‘’Corporate Safety and Security in Water Supply Organizations, Implementation of The Protocol on Water and Health in Serbia’’.
The UETS organizes dedicated seminars for local govern- ments, NGOs, schools, health care organizations etc. in the  elds of environmental protection, energy ef ciency... It also coordinates CPD activities of its collective members.
Publishing activity
The UETS publishes the magazine "Tehnika" which is the leading Serbian scienti c and technical magazine. It covers science and professional topics and has been published for more than 70 years. The UETS collective members also publish their expert magazines.
Specialist’s exams
The UETS organizes and conducts Specialist`s exams for engineers and technicians of three different technical disciplines. The candidates have to pass the exam in front of the Commissions appointed by the Ministry of Mining and Energy of the Republic of Serbia.
Work on various projects at national level
The Joint Body (National Working Group), responsible for requirements realization of The Protocol on Water and Health in Republic Serbia, was established in 2013 by the Ministry of Health of Republic Serbia. The UETS collabo- rates with the Joint Body in different projects supported by World Health Organization. The objective of The Protocol is to promote, nationally and in international contexts, the protection of human health and well-being, both individual
