Member associations: In Romania, the  rst durable, professional engineering association, was founded in 1881, under the name of Polytechnical Society. The Romanian General Association of Engineers was founded in 1918. Both associations coexisted until they merged in 1949. Realistic Objectives. Results by Measure, 2016-2017
AGIR's activity followed in the period 2016-2017 a growing trend in the number and scope of speci c activities in order to strengthen the cooperation relations with the authorities, with numerous structures of the civil society in the country and abroad, the organization of technical- scienti c, cultural-artistic activities. The IT system has developed, which has helped to better publicize the activ- ities, strengthen the links between the AGIR structures, promote the adopted programs and provide adequate infor- mation on the results. The sites of each AGIR organization were created to promote existing members, but also to attract new members to publish information and news of local interest.
The Association has been an organizer and co-organizer of numerous scienti c events, homage, anniversary, seminars and book launches, being also a media partner for multiple actions with a signi cant scienti c, technical and socio- cultural impact. A remarkable event with international
participation was the Scienti c Symposium of Romanian Engineers from Everywhere, the 12th Edition, Solutions for a Smart City, held in Craiova in 2016.
Large-scale meetings were held together with leading national universities, local governments, associations and companies, such as: ● Creativity, Invention, and Robotics - 21st edition (Brasov Branch). The AGIR Bra●ov Branch participated in the  rst START-UP COMPOSITE contest held in Augsburg, Germany, where, among the 169 participants
